This is the first birthday that we have been able to celebrate with her. We were able to send her a cake for her 4th birthday last year, but we spent the day celebrating half a world apart.
Today, we celebrate as a family. A forever family.
Sometimes, it makes us so sad when we think how we have missed celebrating four birthdays with our precious, precious little girl.
We missed watching her grow throughout her first four years. We missed watching her blow her very first birthday candles.
But, that makes this birthday all the more special.
We love you so much Maylie Grace Tanjie!!! You are a blessing sent straight from heaven above! We thank God every day for our vivacious little girl, bubbling over with personality and love. We feel so privileged to be your family.Posted by Karissa

Happy 5th Birthday, sweet Maylie Grace!! I am SO happy for your family that she is HOME with you for this birthday...and every birthday yet to be!! I know how very hard it is to celebrate those milestones from half-a-world away, and to grieve over the years we have missed. But I am so glad that in this moment, she is HOME with her forever family, and you will never wonder about her again! God is good and faithful, and she is exactly where she was always meant to be.
