2008 Beijing Olympics Gymnastics

Lately we have been watching the womens' gymnastics finals, and enjoying it a lot. This is our first year seeing the womens' gymnastics, and we quickly were educated by our friend Gretchen on who was the best on the American team. We have now experienced much enthusiasm in rooting for Shawn Johnson and Nastia Liukin.

Our family routed for them both as they won the silver for the team finals. My sisters and I were so happy that Shawn won silver, and Nastia bronze for the floor routine. They were incredible! We also watched, with anticipation, on the edge of our chairs, as Nastia won the silver for the uneven bars. It definitely was a bitter sweet victory. Her routine was excellent and it didn't seem fair how the judges broke the tie. But we were thrilled to see Shawn win the gold for the balance beam, which she so deserved!

Number One!

We're looking forward to the next summer Olympics...
